I called Alli to find out more info. She said that apparently she had an infection in her stomach and was on antibiotics. She wasn't feeling well or wasn't getting better and decided to check herself into the hospital. Meanwhile, her daughter hadn't heard from her for a few days and got worried. She called the Pi Phi house to find out what was going on (she became the Pi Phi house mom about 2.5 years ago). From what I understand, they told her that she was at the hospital. Anyhow, they found out that her red blood cells were attacking her white blood cells. She fell into a coma on Monday night and was placed on life support.
She already had everything put together including a DNR and she asked that there be no funeral. Now we are just waiting to hear back from her daughter and the Pi Phi's to find out if they are planning on doing some sort of memorial service for her since there are so many of us that cared so much about her. If they don't do a service, we will most likely be putting together a book for her daughter with notes and things from us for her to keep.
She was an amazing woman. She battled cancer. She took place in research studies for a drug that was not approved by the FDA to battle her cancer. She was the Tri Delta house mom for 5 years. She cared so much about the girls. And she was such a help for me and house corporation during the beginning of the lawsuit. She watched over the house. Boy, I will miss her.
Rest In Peace Joyce Johnson
