Rest in Peace my Sera

On Sunday April 5, Que Sera (aka Sera) passed away in her sleep.

Papa had let her out into the backyard before leaving for church and saw that she was a little unstable walking outside but didn't think too much of it. When he got home from church and shopping he went to let the dogs inside and saw that Natasha was in the igloo with Sera, which is a rarity. When he went to "wake" her she had already passed.

He called me at my apartment and I missed the call. He left me a message just as I called back. He answered the other line and told me that Sera has passed away. I was shocked, but I knew it was going to happen soon. She was getting old. Papa asked if I wanted to go with him to the vet and I did. I finished my breakfast, got dressed and headed to their house.

When I got to their house mom was on the phone with Michelle from the Kaylenberg Kennel where we got her. I asked them where she was and they told me she was still in her igloo. She loved sleeping in her igloo. It was her only haven away from the other dogs. Where she could sleep in the cold and be comfortable, yet close to the house. I went to the back to see her and mom and papa followed. She looked so peaceful. Like she was just sleeping and would wake up any minute. Mom kept covering up her body with my green fleece blanket that we put in the igloo for her to stay warm on the cold Utah nights as if she was cold. It was very cute. I pet her, gave her kisses and talked to her for a few minutes.

Finally it was time to take her to the vet. Before papa took her out of the igloo, I had to get a photo of her...resting in peace. Then papa began to pull her out of the igloo. Mom helped as she weighed around 50 pounds and was limp. They both carried her through the house as it would be her last time through the house she called home for 14 years. We placed her in the back of the "PAPA CAR" and we left to the vet.

We decided that we would have the vet take care of her and we decided to have them do a ceramic paw print of her so that we will still have something of her with us.

Natasha knows that she is gone, but I don't think Gunner cares!

Anyhow, that's the long story of my girl Sera passing away. We will all miss her. She was 16 years old.
